China Clay Country Park (CCCP)

Mercury PR played a crucial part in a major marketing campaign that aimed to regenerate the profile of a unique Cornwall tourist attraction. Coinciding with a £1 million refurbishment programme to completely update the attraction, Mercury PR led the drive to re-launch the China Clay Country Park just outside St Austell, home to the UK’s only China Clay Museum.

Working within its cooperative ICS, Mercury PR:

  • Copy wrote the new visitor brochure;
  • Copy wrote the new CCCP web site;
  • Organised a direct mail drop of the new brochure to 20,000 local homes;
  • Ran a hard hitting media campaign with press releases fed into the local and regional press pre and post launch;
  • Managed all media aspects of the Royal opening of the new visitor centre.

"As the new chief executive of the China Clay Country Park I needed immediate professional help with the marketing of this new venture, Mercury provided just the expertise I was looking for. Their knowledge of the local media meant that our limited budget could be targeted effectively and the promotion of the shop and new café has meant that the spend per head has increased significantly. I shall certainly continue to seek Mercury’s advice to continue to raise the profile of this unique attraction."
